Start a Science Olympiad Team

Your STEM learning experiences are just about to get really exciting!

Step 1: Which Division?

Science Olympiad is organized around schools with teams at the Division A (elementary), Division B (middle/junior), and Division C (high school) levels. Wisconsin Science Olympiad (WSO) offers many state-wide tournament and programming activities for Div. B and C. Division A activities are organized locally through participating schools.

WSO follows the policies and procedures of the National Science Olympiad (NSO) on the formation of teams.

Step 2: Join Science Olympiad

An annual membership for a team in WSO is $350. This fee includes WSO and NSO membership, digital access to the event rules and ability to participate in Invitational, Regional and State and National tournaments and programming.*   NEW TEAMS are able to join Science Olympiad in Wisconsin for the first two years for $60/year! What a great way to experience Science Olympiad, even if your team is only starting out with a few students.

*State and National Tournaments are qualification based and Invitational Tournaments may charge an additional entry fee.

Step 3: Let the fun begin!

Once registered with WSO, your team is now able to participate in the many tournaments across the state and nation. Your team will be assigned to a Region in the state which will set their qualifying tournament for state. Teams are then encouraged to attend one of the state or national invitational tournaments.  There is a wealth of information and resources to explore on Science Olympiad that can help in preparation for the events of the tournaments.
