Wisconsin Science Olympiad, Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has a mission to promote STEM education for students in Wisconsin K-12 schools by engaging communities in the thrill, excitement and challenge of science, technology, engineering and math competition.

 

An after-school team activity, Science Olympiad is one of the nation's most prestigious and rigorous competitions of science, technology, engineering and math. At both the state and national level, Science Olympiad teams compete in more than two-dozen scientific and engineering challenges on topics ranging from human health, ecology, chemistry, cell biology, geology and engineering.

 

ABOUT THE WISCONSIN SCIENCE OLYMPIAD

Wisconsin Science Olympiad is affliated with Science Olympiad. The many events of Science Olympiad are based on National Science Standards so Science Olympiad is an excellent strategy for school districts to meet science standards in a very engaging student oriented manner. Science Olympiad is ready for the implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards and offers excellent resources for schools to meet the challenges of these new standards. 

Wisconsin Science Olympiad involves close to 100 school districts in Wisconsin in tournaments for elementary, middle and high school students. Tournaments are hosted at middle schools, high schools and several universities throughout Wisconsin with Science Olympiad "season" beginning with a December tournament and culminating in State Tournaments typically held in March or April. The winner of the state tournaments is invited to the national tournament which is rotated throughout the United States.

Wisconsin Science Olympiad is an active organization that is dependent on hundreds of dedicated volunteers across the state who offer their expertise and time to support the STEM educational efforts of the children of Wisconsin. Wisconsin Science Olympiad has developed a collaboration that enables a better focus on the needs of teams in Middle Schools and High Schools. Although we are all Wisconsin Science Olympiad, there are a few differences in the management and procedures of the Middle School and High School Tournaments.
